Mother ‘who hanged her two children with dog leash’ breaks down in court

Lisa Snyder, a 41-year-old mother accused of hanging her two children with dog leashes, broke down in court as her surviving son testified.
Snyder is charged with the deaths of eight-year-old Connor and four-year-old Brinley, who were found hanged in the basement of their Pennsylvania home in 2019.
The children died three days later after being taken off life support.
In her defense, Snyder claimed that Connor was being bullied at school and had expressed suicidal thoughts.
However, police reported finding evidence that Snyder had searched online for information about suicide, death by hanging, how to commit murder, and had also sought episodes of a crime documentary series titled “I Almost Got Away With It.”
Authorities immediately doubted her suicide claim, stating they found no supporting evidence.
Security footage from the school bus on the day of the incident showed no signs of distress from the boy, and an occupational therapist later stated that he wasn’t physically capable of inflicting such harm on himself or his younger sister.
The coroner ruled both children’s deaths as homicides caused by hanging.

Snyder’s 22-year-old son, Owen, took the stand on Tuesday to testify about the killings, causing Snyder to break down in tears in court.
Owen stated: “I just don’t see her as my mother anymore,” when asked why he referred to Snyder as ‘Lisa,’ as reported by the Mainline Times and Suburban.
Owen also alleged that Connor had physical limitations that would have made it challenging to set up the hangings.
Initially, Snyder was also accused of engaging in sexual activities with her pit bull just before the killings, based on evidence found in her Facebook account.
However, a judge decided not to admit these claims into the murder trial after the defense team argued that they would bias the jury.
